Today Corbyn’s Labour lead the ABC1s by 12%

Corbyn’s Labour now have a 12% lead with the upper and middle classes, let that sink in. I think whilst this might be an outlier it is probably a result of Mrs May and her close advisers decision to abdicate from focusing much/any time on the economy during the general election campaign lest Philip Hammond had a good campaign and made it impossible for Mrs May to sack Philip Hammond on June 9th. The Tories must hope whomever succeeds Mrs…

Whilst Mrs May is performing very badly, we should also remember and praise Corbyn’s contribution

Whilst Mrs May is performing very badly, we should also remember and praise Corbyn’s contribution

Ditching Mrs May won’t be the panacea for the Tories some Tories think it will be. Last night stories emerged that Theresa May is a ‘lame horse’, furious Tory ministers warn, amid claims they could resign to force her out, but I’m coming to the conclusion that whilst Mrs May is a pox on the Tory party, ditching her won’t necessarily improve the Tory party in the polls, though it would stop the haemorrhaging. The chart above sums up the…

It appears Brexiteers are finding out they can’t have their cake and eat it

It appears Brexiteers are finding out they can’t have their cake and eat it

I've been amazed by how pessimistic Brexiteers have now become. Most ardent Leaver I know texted today: "We've (they've) blown it". https://t.co/4ANiqlat1x — Tom Newton Dunn (@tnewtondunn) July 5, 2017 "I am beginning to hear talk in some quarters that Brexit may not actually happen" reports @nicholaswatt #newsnight pic.twitter.com/GveKN7XvkP — BBC Newsnight (@BBCNewsnight) July 5, 2017 Feels like a co-ordinated push on Brexit today from sceptics. Conservative choices. The class of 2017

Embed from Getty Images They were supposed to be so much more numerous, but in the end the new Conservative MPs of 2017 were a fairly select group.  The 32 novice MPs on the government benches make up just 10% of the Conservatives’ intake.  I’ve therefore compiled a table of the newbies which can be accessed by clicking here.  What do we know about them? Surprisingly little, actually, even when you try to find out.  In many cases, online profiles…

This makes me glad I’m laying Boris in the race to be next Tory leader

Gosh. Look how far Boris Johnson is down the ranking for Tory activists pic.twitter.com/ZpaDVZvczP — Sam Coates Sky (@SamCoatesSky) July 4, 2017 ConservativeHome have released their latest cabinet league table based on the votes of readers of Tory members on ConHome. Whilst the most eye catching thing might be Mrs May’s spectacular record breaking fall from grace, for me it is the score achieved by Boris. With the seriousness of Brexit in both securing a good deal and the post…
