Fundamentally the picture is that those most appealing to leave voters are toxic to large numbers of others but for many other candidates they just are not that well known.

6/ Again when you look at Remain and Leave voters the contrast is clear. Those that appeal most to Leave voters are unpopular with Remain.

Conclusion (2 of 2):

Some candidates being relative unknowns doesnt have to be a bad thing. More opportunity to be a blank slate / define yourself positively when you win. Common sense suggests a blank slate candidate more sensible than someone with high negatives.
