YouGov EU poll: It’s a three-way tie for second place

YouGov EU poll: It’s a three-way tie for second place

Should you take the 6/4 that the LDs will beat Labour? As I suggested in the previous thread there was some uncertainty about the Sun’s YouGov figures for the EU elections because of different numbers in the article and in the chart. I’ve now got clarification from the firm’s Peter Kelner who writes: “The Sun graphic shows all naming a party; the text shows “certain to votes”. (Lib dems are also on 19% – so three-way tie for 2nd place!)”….

The Sun CON 41(-2) LAB 22(-5) LD 19 (+1) YouGov: Labour drop to record low A sensational new poll for the Sun tomorrow shows very starkly the damage that is being done to Labour by the latest crisis – MPs expenses. Coming on top of everything we’ve seen in the past five weeks the question has to posed as to how long Gordon can stay at the top. Will numbers like this, if repeated in other polls over the weekend,…

So what will “Westminster Couples’ Day” bring?

Audacity.org Could any revelations affect the betting markets? This morning I filled in a PoliticsHome poll over whether I was getting bored with the Daily Telegraph MP expenses exposes. The answer, I suppose, is yes. There isn’t really anything shocking and new now coming out as the paper moves from one segment of MPs to another. But that could all change tonight. We are promised that the next round will focus on MP married couples where, in theory at least,…

Do Brown and Clegg need to respond to this?

Do Brown and Clegg need to respond to this?

Has Dave done enough to gain the initiative? Within the past half hour David Cameron has been holding a press conference announcing his party’s reaction to the revelations of questionable expenses claim by some of his party’s MPs, including members of the shadow cabinet. He listed and almost named and shamed ministerial colleagues who will pay some money back and he’s also announced the creation of a party scrutiny committee. This, of course, is pure politics. Cameron wants to be…

Both the Tories and Labour down with Populus

REVISED CON 39(-4) LAB 26(-4) LD 22 (+4) What does this say about the expenses expose? The Times Populus survey for May is just out and shows Labour and the Tories both down four points with the LDs up by the same number. Like other recent polls there has been an increase in “others” – something that tends to happen ahead of the Euro elections. In its final Westminster voting poll before the 2004 Euro elections Populus reported an others…
