Fewer than half of Brits support retaining the monarchy

? Given the future of the monarchy is back on the agenda. What do the public think? 47% oppose abolition 29% back it. Tory and Reform voters are most opposed. Green voters most likely to be in favour of abolition.

It’s probably reasonable to assume using eg the Australian example more of those in neither support/oppose might move to oppose if the question were pitched against a concrete alternate proposition for head of state.

But as our polling covered by Annabelle Dickson in politico showed, there is strong support for stripping Prince Andrew of his prince title. Here Green voters and Reform voters (despite being strongest supports of monarchy) are most supportivet.co/UTNwNmtnhq

What about approvals of the Royals. William is top of the pack, followed by Royal powerhouse Princess Anne, Harry, Megan, Sarah Ferguson and especially Prince Andrew are all underwater with public opinion.

The long term future of the monarchy is in doubt thanks to the young and Green voters.
