As was discussed on the last post Ann Selzer polling for the state’s leading newspaper has over the years built up an enviable reputation. Her approach reaches those most likely to vote in the caucuses.

You can see why Donald Trump started rubbishing this poll before it came out as it implies Trump, electorally speaking, is Cruzing for a Bruising in Iowa.

With Karl Rove, the architect of George W Bush’s two Presidential victories saying this week, Trump Is the Democrats’ Dream Nominee, that might also help focus minds and allow a ‘Stop Trump’ candidate to take advantage. This poll might help Cruz get the ‘big mo’ as I have the feeling the Republicans want to take back the White House and will back the best placed candidate to do as Donald Trump isn’t that candidate.

With fifty days until the Iowa caucus there’s plenty of time for anyone to win this, though I’m still struggling to confidently call the Republican nomination for anyone at the moment though it does appear Ben Carson chances are diminishing.
