Is now the time to back Kerry?

The first polls following Thursday’s White House debate in Miami show a big majority of those who watched saying that John Kerry was the winner.

An ABC news poll had it 45% Kerry to 36% Bush.

Meanwhile the first post-debate poll on the race itself has been conducted and puts Kerry in the lead by 47-45.

There’s been a big move back to John Kerry in the betting and the best bookmaker price is now 13/8. The Betfair Betting exchange price has tightened from 2/1 to 17/10.

It was vital if Kerry was to stay in the race for him to put up a good performance on Thursday and he has not disappointed his supporters. The general view is that it was the President who semed least at ease.

There are two further debates and four and a half weeks to go before polling day. After six weeks of bad news for the challenger the debate might turn the tide. BACK KERRY while you can still get good value.
