What with the LAB party defamation case moves and PMQs its been another big political day. One thing’s for sure the response by Corbyn to the party’s settlement of the libel action doesn’t mean the antisemitism row is going away.

For me the big US development has been the growing opposition from senior figures in the military to Trump’s approach to dealing with the demos following the police murder on an unarmed black man in Minnesota. Quite where this goes I don’t know but what an environment for WH2020
The big betting move in the last few hours has been on Amy Klobuchar who is to be vetted by the Biden campaign as a possible VP. I’m not sure how significant this is because there have been reports of other potential VP choices also being examined. Certainly Klobuchar has a lot going to her.
For me the big new of the day is that a local riverside cafe has opened for takeaway sales of coffee and I’m looking forward to joining the socially distanced queue in the morning. You can’t sit down, of course, but there are plenty of park benches nearby. This is one step back to normality. Meanwhile there’s a good New York Times podcast which focuses on Britain’s individual approach to dealing with the crisis called “Boris Johnson’s change of heart”….
