The king over the water for the Tories?
You can back Nigel Farage at 34 on Betfair on the next Tory leader market, I am not tempted because of that split amongst Tory voters, it would be interesting to see a similar poll of Tory members. TSE

There comes a point in many investigations when you know exactly what has happened, why and who is at fault. It may not mean its end. But the essential findings are clear, no matter what’s needed to colour in the whole picture. What happened on Tuesday at the Post Office (“PO”) Inquiry was such a moment. There were two events. The first was the evidence of Elaine Cottam, eviscerated here by Nick Wallis as an “obtuse, thick-as-mince, malevolent incompetent”. She…
When I first heard the absolute nonsense emanating from Suella Braverman’s mouth about the homeless I was truly disgusted and I had a feeling it would go down very badly with the voters and this poll confirms my expectations were right. Her comments persuaded me to vote Labour for the first time in my life. Her comments were a not so subtle pitch to Tory members who will have the final say on Sunak’s successor but her comments were so…
Hardy these days do we focus on a single poll on PB. Rather I like to look at the big pictrure from a group of surveys at regular intervals. Given that we are getting nearer and nearer to the general election then the pressure will surely mount on the PM. If there hadn’t been so many changes of leader during the current Parliament then I think that Sunak would be more vulnerable to a coup than he is at the…
Just imagine Boris Johnson had actually survived putting a known sexual predator in a position of authority and then lying about it, he then survived being suspended for 90 days from the House of Commons for lying to the Commons over partygate. These two events alone would have ensured the Tories doing worse than they currently are, a mixture of hypocrisy and the fact there weren’t enough Tory MPs willing to serve under Boris Johnson to allow a functioning government…
There is a big political row growing over the plans to have a pro-Palestinian march this Sunday which of course is Remembrance Day. Sunak has decided to back the Israelis while many others believe the other side has right on its side. The two front pages above sum up the argument on the planned marches and I totally support the view of the Met that it shouldn’t be their role to decide which marches should take place. Mike Smithson
With pessimism rising I am not sure this the ideal launchpad for a succesful general election campaign for the Tories. TSE
I’ve said for a while Susan Hall was congenitally a terrible candidate for London and this poll backs up that feeling. Those hoping ULEZ would damage Khan are going to be disappointed by this poll. This poll has a London Westminster voting intention which sees a Labour lead of 35%, at the 2019 general election Labour led the Tories by 16.1% in the capital which means the Tories are on course for a world of hurt in London at the…
