We shouldn’t rule out the possibility that a Corbyn leadership could be the catalyst for LAB’s rebirth
Yesterday William Hill put up a bet offering 5/2 on Jeremy Corbyn leading LAB at the next general election. The thinking behind this chimes with the widespread assumption that Corbyn would be disastrous for LAB and that well before GE2020 there’d be a move to oust him and replaced with someone perceived to be much more voter friendly.

But could this be wrong? Could a Labour with Mr Corbyn in charge be a proposition that is electorally popular?
The answer is that I don’t know but in this leadership campaign his message has certainly touched a lot of people and who knows whether that might resonate more widely?
I’ve been particularly struck by the way that LAB people I know well have suddenly become enthusiastic for the member for Islington. Notable on PB has been the former Broxtowe MP Nick Palmer and one or two other regulars.

Maybe the public has moved on from identikit Oxbridge educated party leaders with full heads of hair still in their 40s never having had “a proper job”.
Whatever that William Hill 5/2 looks like a good bet.
