LAB YouGov daily poll lead moves back to pre-Cameron EU speech levels. Any bounce seems well and truly over

LAB YouGov daily poll lead moves back to pre-Cameron EU speech levels. Any bounce seems well and truly over

55% tell Ashcroft that they want a LAB maj or LAB-LD coalition

So two polls overnight – another Michael Ashcroft survey carried out last weekend and the regular YouGov daily poll.

The Ashcroft survey has CON 33%: LAB 38%: LD 11%: Ukip 9%. These figures are better for the Tories than the last such poll in 2012 but this is almost entirely due to #GE2010 CON voters being more likely now to say they would vote for the party. Ashcroft concludes:-

“The Speech, and more importantly the policy it articulated, has made Tories feel better about being Tories. This is not to be sneezed at – but let’s not confuse it with having changed anybody’s mind.”

An interesting finding that hasn’t changed since last year is the 32% saying that they would prefer a CON majority government after the next election – see pie chart above. 38% want a LAB majority while 30% would like to see a coalition involving the Lib Dems.
