After yesterday’s poll from Lord Ashcroft showing the Greens on 11 percent there’s news this afternoon that ICM, the Guardian’s pollster, has the party on 9 percent – an increase of four points on last month.
It really does appear that the row over the TV debates and general dissatisfaction with all of the main parties is providing rich pickings for the Greens. At the same time the polls shows UKIP shift down 3 points while the Tories jump 2 and are only 3 behind LAB
In many ways the ICM’s methodology is very similar to Lord Ashcroft and the fact that both these pollsters are showing similar trends for the Greens is indicative that something is happening.
How this would work out in terms of seats is hard to say. Looking at the headline figures it appears as though the Lib Dems and UKIP have borne the brunt of the Green surge.
