Is Obama showing he can work with a Conservative?

With less than seven months to go before he faces country Barack Obama is giving Dave the full treatment in Washington today. The weather is superb and the pictures could not be better.

For Obama it’s useful that Cameron is a Conservative given the onslaught he’ll face from the right in the coming months.

Cameron has been careful not to meet any of the contenders for the GOP nomination on his visit.

The common political element is that both men don’t have full control of the legislatures in their own countries. Cameron has all the constraints of the coalition while Obama has to work with both a Republican Senate.

The big difference is that Cameron probably won’t be going to the country for more than three years. The presidential election is in November.
