Will this calm the doubters on his own side?
I thought Ed Miliband did extremely well first time out and marked it 5/10 Cameron to 7/10 EdM.
His focus on the child benefit changes was clearly the right strategy and his persistent and restrained tone must have come as something as a shock to the PM who on a number of occasions looked flustered. His attacks on Labour for causing the financial problems didn’t convince.
Clearly Cameron had no idea what to expect though his final flurry was clearly pre-prepared and his final line “it’s not red, it’s Brown” struck home.
Wednesdays at midday are going to be compulsive viewing agin.
