What will Donald Trump’s news do?
Given how tight the national polling is it has, I’d suggest, been quite surprising that even as late as yesterday afternoon you could still get Romney at 2/1 on Betfair.

That’s moved a fair bit since then and the question is whether this switch will run out of steam – or could we be seeing a narrowing of the betting gap with Obama?
My guess is that the “big announcement” about Obama from Donald Trump on Obama might has the potential to drive it further and we could see the total traded on Betfair on this market touch £10m.
On the SportingIndex electoral college vote spread markets Obama has edged down to 292-297. The magic number to win, of course, is 270 so it’s getting closer.
It’s likely to be an interesting day on the markets.
